Darrin Hightower
Sales
Envirox, LLC
HISTORY
After graduating from Danville High School, Darrin Hightower went on to
the College of DuPage. After returning to the area, he just “stumbled
upon” an opportunity at Envirox. Before that, he had never heard
of the company. Today, he credits the company for “building him
from the ground up.” Darrin began in the Machine Department where
he worked for two years before being promoted to Team Leader. He spent
two more years in that capacity before he was promoted to Manager of Inventory
and Quality Control. After two years in that role he was promoted to his
current position in Sales. He’s passionate about the fact that the
eight years he has spent at Envirox, the company has “been like
his family.”
KEY SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS FOR ULTIMATE JOB PERFORMANCE/strong>
Darrin says it is obvious to him now that working his way up the company
ladder and really learning the process and the product has been key to
his effectiveness in sales. Communication skills, listening skills and
attention to detail are essential skills for a position like this.
REWARDS OF THE JOB
Darrin loves the travel and meeting new people. He is also proud that
the product they make and sell is a part of the national “green
movement.”
ADVICE FOR BEING SUCCESSFUL
“Read and keep learning and work hard. If you don’t work
hard, you won’t succeed. A job or a community is as good as you
make it.”
